Opening on December 20, 2002, the Independence Superchair opened up 165 acres of new terrain in the stunning Peak 7 glades. The six-passenger high-speed lift gives skiers and riders access to top-notch intermediate terrain.
     A tribute to Breckenridge's colorful past, the new trails and lift represent a historic mining theme including; Angel's Rest, Monte Cristo, Fort Mary B., Swan City, Lincoln Meadows, Pioneer, Wirepatch and of course Independence (the original name for the Breckenridge area).
